The Day the Weird Tales Facebook Page Got Hacked

The Weird Tales Magazine Facebook page got hacked the other day and has been mostly posting clickbait content that seems to lead to a spammy website. With more than one million likes, the peanut gallery of the page fans came out in force in order to share their insight into this situation.

Update: Weird Tales is back! Praise Cthulhu!

Here’s an example of the content that has been going up.

  1. I’m the on-line editor for WTs and one of the admins who got locked out by these bastards. Reading the comments to the spam postings is the only thing that is keeping me from ripping all of my hair out.

    1. oooh no no no honey…thats not how you do it….you find the sneaky little hackers and rip all THEIR hair out! LOL~

I am in 100% agreement with the fate these hackers should face! Welcome back Weird Tales!!!!

    2. I believe I might get the voodoo dolls out for you and your fellow Admin. I’ll send ya one in the mail if ya like….I’m sure you have a few choice things you’d like to perform on em.

    3. Instead of tearing your hair out, you should calming plot their doom. I suggest feeding them to the Deep Ones. Anyone else got any creative revenge schemes?

  2. And this is why I love WT…. Knowing I’m not the only one out there with an awesomely weird sense of humor. Thank you all!

  3. Hi! It’s great that you’ve got things fixed, but my computer contracted a MAJOR virus because of that page… I’m wondering if you have any hints or tips as to how I can get rid of it! Have you heard any other complaints on this matter?Looking forward to a reply,

    Thanks,

    Megyn

    1. hgggggggghhhhh

“What’s that goat … you know, the one with a thousand young. You know the one?”
      “Shub Niggurath”

“THE FUCK YOU JUST SAID TO ME YOU GONNA EAT YOUR FUCKEN WORDS BOY OH IT’S ON”

Hey, it broke up the monotony. If you dont challenge life, life will find you and put sexy pictures of Kate Upton along with freakish pictures of a Disney Channel child star on your facebook page and give a bunch of random people viruses. And they all lived happily ever after.

  6. LoL I followed WT on the day they were hacked. And when I saw all the post I was gunna unfollow you guys but luckily I waited 😀 hope to see what you guys really post.

  7. so THATS why I’m suddenly getting pictures of women in yoga pants instead of six year old girls in tutus holding blood stained knives standing beside teddy bears with fangs. Some people are sick you know who likes yoga pants?

  8. I hope that the admins at WT haven’t already sent the $3000 check to ‘Mr. Bhunta’ in Burkina Faso via DHL Express, hoping to get 8million deposited in their account.

And yet, sadly — or strangely — it appears that the Weird Tales Facebook page is entirely gone. With no update on the magazine’s web site.
